Where is The Wetlands? Click here for a Site Map of The WetlandsThe Wetlands is located in Wise, VA in the coalfields of the Cumberland Plateau. By treating the AMD on the UVa-Wise campus, The Wetlands helps to reduce the amount of sediment and acidic water flowing to the Guest River, the third largest tributary to the Clinch River. As one of the most biologically diverse rivers in the world, the Clinch River is home to myriad species of mussels, salamanders, and fish.
